The authentication of the document(s) will require an Apostille or Authentication certificate...
What is an Apostille?
An apostille is a certificate that authenticates the origin of a public document that will be used at an international level by countries that are included in the Hague Convention. The Hague Convention of 1961 allowed members of the Convention to not require a consulate authentication certificate.

What is an Authentication?
For countries that are not part of the Hague Convention, there is a more complex process for authentication. The document(s) needs to go, to not only the Secretary of State office but also the U.S. State department in D.C. and the embassy or consulate. Given the additional process, it does take longer to complete an authentication.
Some examples of public documents that are apostilled or authenticated are:
Birth certificate Marriage certificate
Visa application FBI Background Check
Police Clearance certificate Court order
Death certificate Contract
Marital Status Affidavit Power of Attorney / Special Power of Attorney (SPA)
Diploma / Degree Transcript / Recommendation Letter
Commercial Invoice Will/Trust
